July 2014

The Annual Benefits Open Enrollment is moving - The annual Benefits Open Enrollment effective date is moving to January 1, 2015.  This change is designed to improve service to our MPS employees by publishing 12-month rate information during the open enrollment period that will be effective throughout the plan year.  It will allow employees to have more complete information about plan costs for the entire year at the time of open enrollment rather than experiencing a premium rate change in July, as in prior years.  The Open Enrollment election period will move to late October/November, with enrollment in the plans effective January 1st.  Specific dates will be released as plans are finalized.  In the fall, additional information will follow regarding the open enrollment period and the publication of open enrollment materials.

New health plan premiums effective July 1, 2014 - Active employee health plan premium contributions can be found on the MPS Home page > Employee Benefits News > Benefit Plans >Medical Health Plans.  For full premium rates click on "Health Insurance Employee Premium Contribution - EFFECTIVE 07-01-2014".  NOTE:  10 month (including year-round) employees will pay the July and August 2014 health plan premium contributions starting in September over the course of 8 paychecks.  If you do not return for the 2014-2015 school year, you will be billed for the two month's (July and August) premium contributions.
