Our year-round schools start classes on Monday. MPS has 22 year-round schools, including Ralph H. Metcalfe School, at 3400 W. North Avenue. It serves approximately 330 students in kindergarten through grade 8. Superintendent Thornton visits Metcalfe on Monday. His visit has a twist!

ESEA Consolidated Plan
The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) entitlement program
provided educational opportunities to the most disadvantaged youth.
Title I, II, III and IV funds are allocated to school districts based
on a formula that takes into account pupil populations and poverty
rates. The Wisconsin Dept. of Public Instruction approves funding for MPS
entitlement programs, which includes equitable participation of
Milwaukee private schools, through the ESEA Consolidated Plan

It is the policy of the Milwaukee Public Schools that, as required by section 118.13, Wisconsin Statutes, no person will be denied admission to any public school or be denied the benefits of, or be discriminated against in any curricular, extracurricular, pupil services, recreational or other program or activity because of the person's sex, race, religion, national origin, ancestry, creed, pregnancy, marital or parental status, sexual orientation or physical, mental, emotional or learning disability.
